We know we make the best RTDs in the world. Now it’s official (again).
Our little cans continue to achieve big things. The latest news, hot of the presses all the way from London, is that Curatif is bringing home the RTD Producer Trophy from the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2023! Yes, we’ve gone back-to-back after taking out the inaugural title for ready-to-drink makers last year too.
Don’t let us tell you why this is a Very Big Deal. Australian Distillers Association head honcho Paul McLeay can do that; “the Producer Trophies are the most prestigious accolades in the IWSC, which is the world's largest and most influential spirits awards with more than 4,000 entries from distilleries across the globe in 2023. Our spirits manufacturers have once again proven that their products can compete with the very best and triumph on the world stage.”
The IWSC judges were frothing over our Bar Bambi Amaretto Sour, Black Pearl Toreador, Jacoby's Trader Vic's Mai Tai, Never Never Distilling Co Negroni, Plantation Hurricane, Ron Colón Corn & Oil, Rum Old Fashioned and Spicy Margarita - each cocktail scoring a seriously impressive 90+ points. They were especially fond of our gold-medal-winning Archie Rose Espresso Martini, waxing poetically that it is, “gorgeously fragrant on the nose with big notes of roasted coffee beans, chocolate and vanilla. Sumptuously indulgent on the palate with rich flavours of smooth cacao and toasted tonka beans. An elegantly creamy mouthfeel with an equally sweet, luxurious finish”.
And we’re proud as (rum) punch to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our juniper-obsessive local friends at Four Pillars who scored the Gin Producer Trophy for a record-breaking third time. As well as the good Melbourne crew at Grainshaker who won the 2023 Vodka Producer Trophy. Curatif’s Managing Director Matt Sanger says, “If the IWSC is our industry’s version of the Oscars, then Curatif, Four Pillars and Grainshaker are Australia’s own Hemsworth, Kidman and Jackman hamming it up on the red carpet right about now. I’ll leave it up to you to decide who is who! Who knows; perhaps there should be a world’s best Four Pillars x Grainshaker x Curatif canned Vesper in our collective futures ?”
